Neutral Doesn't Have To Be Boring

Source: The Spruce

Many of us like a very neutral and monochromatic color palette when choosing our interior finishes and furnishings. This post is about creating attractive neutral spaces using texture! Neutral colors do not have to mean boring design! The image above is a perfect example of using texture to add interest. Notice the formal wall molding detail and sconces, paired with a simple gold frame mirror and rustic wood console. The scale of the mirror and console table are very eye-catching. Considering the size of the wall box detail, the juxtaposition of the larger scale pieces makes the space feel grand. The added woven chair and black and white artwork reflected in the mirror, add another layer of interest in texture and design style. So remember, using texture and mixing design styles allow for beautiful design even when everything is in a neutral color palette.
