Pillow Talk
Source: Today
Let's talk bedroom design. Everyone always describes the mood of the bedroom to be comfortable and relaxed. But what if you want more out of your bedroom? I mean more than just sleep happens in the bedroom if you know what I mean. So what if you want a sexy bedroom that gets you in the mood. No, I promise I am not suggesting you paint the walls red or light a bunch of candles! I want to build more than just a mood for a night, but an actual sexy vibe for every night.
We can start with color. The image above has a very sexy vibe but notice the very monochromatic color palette of similar shades of cream and tan and maybe a bit of blush pink. I wouldn't necessarily call that color scheme a sexy one. If you really pay attention, the sexy comes from texture and lighting! The velvet fabric headboard, the lighting effect of the cascading light down the headboard, and even the shadow the bedside tables cast give you this sensual calming feeling.
Continuing with our color pillow talk, the above image has a very dark color scheme. At first glance, it looks masculine. But if you look closely this bedroom is sexy for the curves of the nightstand, the low profile sleek platform bed, the glow of the wall sconce, and the mix of textures. The area rug looks plush, the walls have a plaster finish that gives them a nice sheen, and the minimal but large-scale design all add up to a very sensual feeling. Don't you want to just touch everything in this room?
The combination of color, texture, lighting, and scale can all add up to a very sexy bedroom no matter what your design style!
