Color Pop

Most people stick with neutral colors when it comes to decorating their homes. Tan was big, then gray took the lead, and now we are seeing more of the earth tones trending now for the new neutral. But what if you like the color? I personally love monochromatic neutral color spaces; gray, white, and taupe with a pop of black. Black is my color pop. My wardrobe reflects the same! But every once in a while, I come across a colorful accent pillow or throw that I will buy on impulse. I place the items in my space and enjoy them for a period of time and then it's gone. I don't always stay in love with the color so the fact that it's a pillow makes it easy to remove it once my color moment is over. It is equally fun to discover it months later and love it all over again for another space in my home. So the trick here is to find smaller items in the color you love that you can spread around the room if you ever decide to change your mind. Color does change how a room feels. So getting some picture frames or bowls in the same color can unify the space with pops of color, without overwhelming the space. The living room above really adds color through drapery, accent pillows, mantle vases, and books on the coffee table.
